Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 September 2026 · Digital Hope Ltd, United Kingdom
Mingle is a shared calendar for small groups. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives and how to get rid of it. We keep it short because there is not much to say: we sell memberships, not data.
What we collect
- Account — your email address (or the private relay address Apple gives us if you use Sign in with Apple), your display name and an optional profile photo and birthday (month and day; the year is never shown to others).
- Content you add — calendars, events, RSVPs, thread posts, photos, notes and checklists. Everything you add to a calendar is visible to the other members of that calendar and to nobody else.
- Membership — whether you have an active Mingle Membership, the product and renewal date. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details.
- Device — a push-notification token so we can send you the notifications you have chosen, and your time zone so reminders arrive at the right time.
- Diagnostics — anonymised crash reports.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across other apps or websites.
- No selling or renting of personal data, ever.
- No reading of your calendars by people at Digital Hope Ltd except when you ask us for help with a specific problem, or when content is reported to us.
Where it lives
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage and Firebase Authentication) in the europe-west2 (London) region, protected by security rules that only let calendar members read a calendar. Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Why we process it
To run the service you asked for (contract), to keep the service safe and to answer reports (legitimate interest), and, for notifications, because you turned them on (consent). You can change notification settings at any time in the app.
Reporting and blocking
Any member can report an event, a post or a person from inside the app and block a person. Reports come to us with the reported content and the reporter's account; we review them and may remove content or accounts that break our terms.
Your rights
You can see and edit your profile in the app. You can export any calendar as an .ics file from Settings. You can delete your account and everything attached to it from Settings → Delete account; calendars you own pass to the longest-serving member or are deleted when empty, and your posts are anonymised. Under UK GDPR you can also ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing support@digitalhopeltd.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Mingle is for people aged 13 and over. Parents can add younger children to a calendar as members without an account; we hold no data about them beyond the name a parent types.
Retention
Content stays as long as the calendar exists. Activity feeds are kept for 90 days, invite links for 30 days after expiry, push receipts for 2 days. Deleted accounts are removed immediately; backups are overwritten within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
